Cereales Guani hit the market: Fresh, crunchy and with Cuban flavor
By Daily Pérez Guillén
Cereales Guani, “what you need to win,” and “made with Cuban products and European quality,” is the new proposal of the joint venture Proxcor S.A., which brings together PROXENTA, from Slovakia, and CORALSA, from Cuba.
Honey, chocolate or corn-flavored, this new product is the first of its kind to be produced in the Caribbean country and seeks to insert itself in the national distribution and consumption networks, both in tourism, e-commerce, the private sector and the network of state-owned stores.
“This is a new formulation. We as a company hired foreign specialists, but we created the recipe here, with the technology we installed. It is a product with great quality, but also very tasty,” stressed Zuzana Skolárová, Proxcor S.A general manager, at a press conference.
During the Cereales Guani launch event with the press and collaborators, Skolárová signed supply agreements with the Gran Caribe and Cubanacán hotel groups.
Meanwhile, Alejandro Castellanos, director of Marketing and Exports, reiterated that the Cuban market is the priority for the joint capital company, although they also aspire to export their products to the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Venezuela, Bolivia and other Central American countries.
He also informed that Proxcor S.A. expects to double the production growth achieved last year this 2025, with 2,581 tons of cookies, wafers and cereals produced in the factory located in Caibarién, Villa Clara province. The production plant has been remodeled and modernized almost in its entirety, thus recovering a decades-old tradition.
“This is a company boasting very high quality. We use top level European technology,” the Slovakian director told TTC some months ago, while assuring that the available equipment has the capacity to produce 400 kilograms of cereals per hour.
Regarding sustainability criteria and savings, Proxcor S.A. also maintains a close relationship with the community where its factory is located. Schools, hospitals, daycare centers, maternity homes, old people’s homes and sports centers have benefited from its social responsibility policy.
