Cuba Salud 2025 begins, an appointment in Havana for universal well-being
The great Cuba Health 2025 event begins today in this capital with the attendance of some three thousand participants from 50 countries until the 25th. Based at the Palacio de Convenciones in this capital and at the Pabexpo Fairgrounds, the world event will be the scene of more than 400 scientific activities and more than 200 keynote conferences, panels, symposia and meetings.
At a press conference, the national director of Science, Technology and Innovation of the Ministry of Public Health, Ileana Morales, reported that the XVI Trade Fair “Health for All” and the II International Fair of Medical Tourism and Wellness will also be held. “The first Cuba-China Science and Innovation symposium will also take place in which they will address issues related to biotechnology and will have the interventions of several rectors of medical universities in the Asian country,” Morales said.
As part of the scheduled activities, the first National One Health Congress will be held, which will address the comprehensive health strategy of the Caribbean nation and in which the knowledge and active participation of all branches of society, from agriculture, education, water and energy resources, are integrated.
“Cuba Health 2025” also hosts the XVI Health for All Fair from April 21 to 24, which will have as its central theme: Universal health coverage and equity in health, which is promoted by the MEDICuba Company.
“This will be the most important trade fair in the sector in which we will receive some 11 companies from China, the guest of honor country to which we dedicate this space,” said the president of the entity, Armando Garrido, also at a press conference.
He said that they plan to sign more than 15 agreements, prioritizing as a line of work the elements of Innovation, Science and Technology, pillars of all activities in the health branch.
On the other hand, Cuba Salud opens the doors to the II International Fair of Medical Tourism and Wellness that will take place from April 21 to 24 at Pabexpo, dedicated to promoting wellness tourism, where the products, experiences and advances of health tourism in the largest of the Antilles, the result of the collaboration between the tourism and health sectors, will be exhibited.
Another milestone of the event in 2025 is the participation for the first time of a delegation from Cambodia led by the director of the Department of Communicable Disease Control of the Ministry of Health, Ly Sovann, who is accompanied by the deputy director of the Department of International Relations, Huy Meng Hut.
During its stay on the island, the Kingdom’s delegation will also develop a program of official talks with its Cuban counterparts on issues of mutual interest that, from the field of health, will allow expanding and strengthening bilateral cooperation, Cuba’s ambassador here, Milena Zaldivar, told Prensa Latina.
The diplomat pointed out that the assistance to Cuba Health 2025 of a Cambodian mission is doubly significant, because in addition to being an unprecedented event, it is the first official delegation to travel to Havana after commemorating the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, on April 15.
The event, explained Ileana Morales, will conclude with the “Declaration of Havana” where the main health challenges for the world in the coming years will be exposed.
